Advanced air purification

An advanced filter helps keep incoming air clear of dust, pollen and harmful PM2.5 particles. An air quality sensor automatically shuts the intakes and recirculates cabin air when it detects high levels of hazardous gases outside.

Scandinavian-inspired design

The EX30 exterior captures the essence of Scandinavian design with beautiful details that are also practical. From aerodynamic design to housing vital sensors, every aspect of the exterior blends form and function. The result is an SUV that's distinctive – and distinctly electric.

Black roof and spoiler

An aerodynamic roof spoiler adds a sporty touch to the exterior. It also cleverly hides a brake light and rear wiper washer nozzle. The black roof with color-coordinated spoiler emphasizes the car’s low center of gravity, adding to its athletic stance on the road.

Wheel designs

Exclusive new wheels are designed to be light and aerodynamic for improved handling and energy efficiency. They’re standard in a 19-inch size. The diamond-cut designs use sharp angles and hidden lugs to create the illusion of larger wheels with extended spokes. And glossy black inserts contrast beautifully with the wheel’s aluminum surfaces.

High-visibility LED lights

Our signature Thor’s Hammer headlights have a wide, segmented design and adjustable height. The long LED light pattern provides excellent visibility, and you can automatically switch between low and high beams to avoid dazzling other drivers.

The C-shaped rear lights feature two sections that sit flush with the car body, adding to the SUV’s seamless appearance.

Look for the welcome or farewell light sequence as you approach or leave the car – a friendly twinkle to mark every trip.

Spacious trunk

The trunk of your EX30 can hold up to 12.4 cubic feet. Fold down the rear seat backrests to bump that up to 27.8 cubic feet, including a 2.2-cubic-foot compartment under the trunk floor.

The inner wheel arches are pushed out of the way to widen the trunk and create a flat floor. Lower the trunk floor to stow heavy or bulky items – it’s simple enough to do with one hand. A handy “Will it fit?” diagram is included on the interior trunk lid.

The power-operated tailgate opens with the touch of a button outside the car or on the center display. Depending on equipment level, you can use your key fob, key card, or digital key (depending on device).

Dynamic 5-seater

The EX30 delivers the utility SUV drivers love in a scaled-down package. It hits the right notes style-wise, too, with a high ground clearance, balanced proportions and confident stance. And despite its size, it's a comfortable 5-seater suited to an active lifestyle.

Want your seat a little toastier? Choose from three available heating levels on the center display. Use the Volvo EX30 app to warm it automatically when temperatures drop below 45 degrees F.

Sport steering wheel

The steering wheel has a sporty look and a grippy feel, making it comfortable to maneuver.

Driver controls are carefully positioned. Buttons on the left control driver support functions like cruise control and Pilot Assist. There's also a customizable button to control your favorite function from the wheel. Buttons on the right control audio, infotainment and communication.

Cabin seat comfort

Passenger seats in the EX30 are designed to deliver the same ergonomic comfort and safety standards as our larger cars. We've slimmed down the front seats to add more legroom in the back. And to make the whole cabin feel cohesive, the front seats are fully upholstered with the same fabric all the way around.

Practical center console

Pop your drink in one of the two retractable cupholders in the center console. Push the cupholder frame back to reveal storage for small items. Tuck the cupholders away when you don't need them.

A storage box at the back of the console gives rear passengers somewhere to stow their things. It's removable for easy cleaning and if you want to use it outside the SUV.

There's floor-level storage below the console for bags or takeaways and large door pockets that help keep cabin clutter down. They're extra big because the audio system speakers sit in the soundbar on the dashboard.

Device storage

Store two devices in a dedicated spot under the center display. It easily fits larger phones. At higher equipment levels, this spot also features a quick wireless charging pad. There are up to four USB-C ports in the cabin for device charging. Rear seat passengers can slip their phones into pouches in the map pockets.

Panoramic roof

The fixed panoramic roof spans the SUV's width, extending from the edge of the windscreen to behind the rear seats. This floods the cabin with natural light to create a sense of airy openness. The tinted glass is coated to minimize glare and reduce the need for a sunshade. It blocks approximately 80 % of the sun's heat radiation, which helps keep the cabin cool on sunny days.

Ambient illumination

Summon Scandinavian skies and landscapes by selecting an ambience theme on the center display. Themes use nature-inspired hues to transform door panels, door pockets and front seat storage with gently shifting illumination. Activate ambient sound to deepen the immersion.

Themes include Archipelago, Midsummer, Nordic Twilight, Forest Bath and Northern Light.

Step into dreamy Scandinavian horizons with an interior crafted from premium recycled materials.

PIXEL KNIT & NORDICO

The seats’ upper parts are wrapped in Pixel Knit, a textile made with 100 % recycled polyester from PET bottles. Its pixelated pattern is inspired by fashion textiles and sneaker fabrics in particular. It's created using a precise 3D knitting process that ensures nothing is wasted. Cushions and backrests are upholstered in Nordico. It’s also made from recycled materials, plus bio-attributed pine resin sourced from sustainably managed forests. It's supple, durable and easy to clean.

Particle decor

This innovative decor has a bright, speckled appearance reminiscent of the starry night skies of a Scandinavian winter. It’s made using ground plastic waste from discarded PVC window frames and roller shutters, with 30 % of the base material sourced from recycled content. Each panel has a unique pattern, making yours one of a kind.

Total sound optimisation

Your car’s speakers actively work together to transform the entire cabin into an immersive listening space. It’s achieved through Dirac^® Unison Tuning, an advanced software that optimises every speaker in frequency, time and space to minimise sound quality variation and maximise richness.

CLEAR AND POWERFUL BASS

Enjoy the full depth and intensity of your music with Harman Kardon’s subwoofer using Air Technology. It’s light and discreetly integrated in the rear-wheel housing, where it pulses large amounts of air through the speaker to produce powerful bass reproduction.

Collision avoidance systems

The EX30 is designed to help you avoid or mitigate collisions with other vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists any time, day or night. It can send audio and visual alerts and brake pulse warnings when a collision risk is detected.

If a collision is imminent or should you turn into the path of an oncoming vehicle at an intersection, the car can brake automatically. In some situations, it can even steer the car to avoid or mitigate a collision.

Driver alert system

Your car can detect distracted and drowsy drivers. An infrared sensor on the steering column tracks the driver's eye and head movements. It tracks how fast or slow they blink and how often. A front-facing camera watches the road to detect erratic driving. And another sensor monitors the steering wheel.

When this data is analyzed together, and a distracted or drowsy driver is detected, the car can drop the driver messages to say it's time to focus or take a break.

Door opening alert

The EX30 uses rear radars to detect cyclists and scooters approaching from behind, sounding an alert if someone in the car goes to open a door. The alert has two levels. First, you’ll hear a warning on the center display and a steady Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) light. When a collision risk is imminent, the alert escalates to a warning sound, and the BLIS light will flash.

Available 360° camera

Cameras on all sides give you a high-resolution 360° bird's-eye view of your car. It even offers a 3D view for enhanced parking assistance. This view automatically pops up on the center display when you go into reverse gear or approach an obstacle at low speed.

Available Pilot Assist

Pilot Assist helps you in small ways that can make a big difference.

Ready to change lanes? Let your car make the move. There must be enough time and space to complete the lane change, and you should maintain your grip on the steering wheel. But this new feature is designed to reduce the pressure of lane changes.

Your car can help make passing and driving alongside large vehicles less unpleasant. It does it by increasing and maintaining the distance between the side of your car and the other vehicle. And when there are trucks on both sides, the car will steer to a center point between them.

Pilot Assist adapts your speed to maintain the distance between you and the vehicle directly in front of you. This can be a huge help in stop-and-go traffic especially. Your car can brake to a complete standstill if the car in front stops. But if that car stops only briefly, your car will automatically resume driving.

These are only some of the ways Pilot Assist delivers advanced driver support. But you must remain attentive and engaged. Pilot Assist can issue prompts to steer and escalate warnings if it detects an unresponsive driver. No response can see the car bring itself to a complete stop.

Available Park Pilot Assist

The EX30 can steer, accelerate and brake to park itself. And yes, it can even parallel park. Just keep a sharp eye on what’s going on around you and take over if something unexpected happens.

The car will find good parking spots, too. At speeds up to 14 MPH, it can locate spaces and show your options on the center display. Pick one, and the car will do the rest.
