Multi-zone climate controls

Front passengers can set their own temperature and fan settings through the center display. Floor air outlets and adjustable roof vents help keep rear passengers comfortable.

Our standard four-zone climate system allows front-row and second-row passengers to set individual temperatures. Rear-seat passengers manage settings from a touch panel at the back of the center console.

Advanced air quality controls

The air quality system continuously filters and monitors incoming air and automatically shuts the cabin's intakes if harmful substances like ozone or exhaust gases are detected.

An air purifier is designed to remove up to 95 percent of PM2.5 particles, which can affect your respiratory health. It also eliminates up to 97 percent of airborne viruses and 99.9 percent of pollen.

Check cabin air quality on the center display and use it to run an air purification cycle. You can also refresh the cabin remotely using the Volvo Cars app.

Child seats and locks

Child seats can be installed in any of the three rear seats with ISOFIX anchorages in the outer positions.

Integrated child seats
When your little ones outgrow their child seats, they can transition to the available built-in booster cushion in the center of the second row, which supports a proper seatbelt fit and comfortable seating. Not available in the 6-seat configuration.

Power child lock
The standard power child lock on the rear doors and windows is controlled directly from the driver's seat.

Ride comfort

Enhanced sound insulation and strategically placed acoustic foam help block wind and road noise. For added peace and quiet, opt for laminated side windows. Of course, suspension design also impacts ride comfort.

The standard chassis with Frequency Selective Damping technology adapts to road conditions for a more controlled drive. The dampers were precisely tuned on demanding Catalonian rally stages, the rugged German Eifel mountains and Volvo’s own testing grounds in Sweden.

The optional active chassis with air suspension gives you an even smoother road feel by adjusting ride height and stiffness. It continuously monitors the car, road and driver, adapting 500 times per second for improved cornering and reduced pitch and roll.

Our classic exterior design expression is embodied by the XC90. The headlights are slim, and the grille has an elegant graphic. The hood is sculpted, and the front bumper and fenders are designed for a truly confident SUV expression.

Multiple wheel designs

Choose between multiple aerodynamic alloy wheels in 20-inch, 21-inch or 22-inch sizes.

The diamond-cut finish combines polished aluminium and black paint for a technical look. Each design complements the exterior design.

Matrix-design LED headlights

The iconic T-shaped Thor’s Hammer headlights are high-tech and slender. But they’re not just for looks.

Matrix-design LED technology improves visibility with its long light pattern and smooth transitions. Automatic high beams come standard. Cornering lights illuminate your surroundings at low speeds, helping you maneuver turns in the dark.

Look out for the welcome or farewell light sequence as you approach or leave the car – a luminous shimmer to mark every trip.

Spacious and flexible trunk

The XC90 trunk is designed with a wide, flat floor with no lip to make loading and unloading easier.

The XC90 has a maximum cargo capacity of 85.7 cu. ft.

Lots to pack? Fold seats down individually or in rows to adjust the space. There’s also a storage area under the floor.

Open and close the power-operated tailgate hands-free by kicking under the rear bumper. You can also use buttons on the tailgate, center display and key fob.

Configuration options

The XC90 is available with six or seven seats. Every configuration retains the exterior’s sculpted appearance and sophisticated impression.

Ergonomic comfort

The front seats are designed for maximum comfort.

They’re ergonomic to help minimize back and shoulder strain. Fine-tune your position with power-operated seat adjustments, lumbar support and available cushion extensions for extra thigh support – a bonus if you have long legs. You can also keep your seat toasty on chilly days with three heating levels.

Get cozier with upgrades like seat ventilation and a ten-point massage function.

Tailored steering wheel

The adjustable steering wheel is wrapped in a premium leather-free material or matching leather when you select blond nappa leather upholstery.

Hand-stitching in color-coordinated thread, satin silk trim and glossy black decor add to its refined look.

Buttons on the left control driver support functions like cruise control and Pilot Assist. Buttons on the right control audio, infotainment and communication.

Cabin-wide comfort

Build your XC90 with six or seven full-sized seats. All seats provide ergonomic support. Front seats and outboard second row seats are heated as standard. With cinema-style seating and plenty of legroom, even the third row feels spacious for people up to 5 ft 7 in tall.

Adjust the cabin layout by folding down rear seat backrests individually or in rows. They fold flush with the floor, adding flexibility to the cabin and extra space for cargo.

Practical storage

There’s storage for your things under the upholstered armrest of the center console. There's also a little storage space under the roll-top cover, plus cupholders for two beverages and a slim can.

Everyone has a cupholder within easy reach. In the 7-seat configurations, second-row passengers have cupholders in the fold-down armrest. In the 6-seater, cupholders are integrated into the armrest of the second-row seats. There are also cupholders in all third-row armrests.

The third-row armrests and rear side panels have a hidden compartment for stashing small items. Passengers in the first two rows have spacious door bins, too. They're big enough to hold a 1.5-liter bottle.

Panoramic roof

The panoramic roof in the XC90 stretches from the windshield to behind the rear seats, flooding the cabin with natural light. The dark-tinted laminated glass helps reduce glare and noise inside the cabin. It also strengthens the glass for added security.

Press a button on the front-row ceiling console to open the roof and let fresh air flow inside. If you forget to close it after parking, do it remotely with your key fob.

When the sun gets too intense, roll out the power-operated sunshade. It’s a perforated textile that lets in light to keep the cabin bright but not overheated. You can set it to automatically deploy when temperatures reach 77-degrees F.

Cabin ambience

Premium interior illumination comes standard in the XC90.

Unlock the car, and the cabin comes to life. General, footwell and mood lights welcome you on board. Open any door to spark ambient lighting on the dashboard and door panels. As you step in, look for embedded graphics and a gleaming Volvo Cars logotype on the instep plates.

Cabin illumination not only elevates cabin ambience, it also adds convenience. Rear seat reading lamps have shades to avoid distracting the driver. Lights in the cupholders and door bins help you find things in the dark. And a tailgate working light helps you load up at night.

Charcoal

Ventilated nappa leather
